Double knees, shock treatment and a famous pee pee...

ok...I just got back...well I got back Sunday....from helping take care of my mother during her double knee-replacement surgery. This is my first chance to update you on all that. Mom gave us a scare and did not want to breathe after surgery. She spent a night in ICU and started to improve after that. She is already at home and dealing with some pain but is glad to be there. I do not remember a time in my life when she was not in pain. She knows that trading arthritis pain for a short time with surgical pain is going to be worth it. I predict she will be playing golf again by march....seriously.

I have suffered some depression since getting back. I don't know if it is because we almost lost Mom or that I feel guilty about not being able to be there more during her recovery or the fact that my clean house before I left is a shattered memory.....I vote for number 3. I am so mad at my crowd that I could spit! The house is a wreck again and I have to clean it up again. I swear, I am going to have to get the cattle prod out do some behavior modification! That's it! What an idea! I can hear it now...."Don't make me have to get the electric shock out after y'all....put your clothes away!" I think it might work!

Hey, guess who was on Mom's floor recovering from surgery....David Keith....you know the guy who kills himself in An Officer and Gentleman? Yeah, him. Anyway, he is from Knoxville and my bro in law says he is a real asshole. So I got to be real good friends with the nurse that saved my Mom's life and she told me....strictly on the QT....that he was on the floor. She told my Mom that she had seen her ass, she wanted to see his! Too funny! Later, she stopped by to tell Mom and me that she had seen his penis! Hilarious! Got to love a nurse with a sense of humor. I will not forget her any time soon....unless my Mom pisses me off....then I will have to sue her ass!

I'll bet you're glad to hear about the IBM thing. Actually, I'm glad your mom is through the surgery! I thought of you during your blogging absense and said a couple of prayers, though I don't know how much good standing I have up there.

Welcome back,
the idiot

I used to live in Knoxville and worked at an area hospital. David Keith came in with a family member one day, and all of us sat around trying to figure out who he was. We finally did figure it out, and one co-worker finally went to introduce herself. He was pleasant enough, although our interaction with him was short. I suppose everyone has asshole potential, though! : )
