Party...
I am home and it is 12:21 and I am not even drunk....a first for me and a party. Helped to give an engagement party tonight. The bride is a sophmore in college and the groom just graduated high school....ack! The mother of the bride is one of my best friends ever and I would do anything for her....and I mean anything....read on.
The party was at the home of my sister-in-law's former husband and his now wife. They live in the house that my husband and his sister and brother grew up in. I told you I would do anything for S. And I meant it. This guy is the father of my niece and her picture is up in the house but even she thinks he is a prick.
I asked for a tour of the house because the H and all always talk about growing up in this house and I have had zero point of reference all these year. Now I know the layout and I can keep up with family conversation. All I have to say is....this house should have been mine. It is a long story and I won't bore you with the details.
The party went great. It was casual and fun and I actually knew the names of everybody that came. Which is a first because in the past, I have been terrible with names. I enjoyed that aspect of things. I was hot all night and folks accused me of going thru the change. I am 37, people. That is too young to be going thru any "changes". I am just warm natured and since we live almost on top of the equator, sweat happens!
I will say that the only two dishes, amongst the conglomeration that we served, that were complemented were my spinach dip and my symphony brownies. This brought much warmth to my heart....as if I needed more warmth. I may be broke and sweaty, but I can cook.
I love S and I am sure she is concerned about her young daughter getting married. I would be. I am home and in one piece and feel good about what I did tonight. Now, my sister-in-law's ex-husband's wife thinks that she and I are going to be big friends now because I played so nice tonight. It just ain't going to happen.

I skim a lot of blogs, and
so far yours is in the Top 3
of my list of favorites. I'm
going to dive in and try my
hand at it, so wish me luck.
It'll be in a totally different
area than yours (mine is
about seo toolbar tools)
I know, it sounds strange, but it's
like anything, once you learn more
about it, it's pretty cool.
If you don't mind, I'd really appreciate
being able to come back and get a
few tips and suggestions from you,
if that's alright, alright?
Thanks,

ps. I confess, that's not my real picture! :-)
sounds to me like you had a very eventful night. There are few relationships that can bring with them as much complexity and pasion as that of Family. Glad the party turned out ok.
